THE COURSE:
NBX’s “Do It In The Woods!” Off-Road Triathlon takes place in Burlingame State Park which is made up of 3,100 acres of rocky woodland. The course begins with a ¼ mile swim in Watchaug Pond at Burlingame State Park followed by a single-loop mountain bike course that winds through Burlingame and concludes with a beautiful trail run that never leaves this magnificent park.
The Swim/Kayak/Paddle Board:
The .25 mile pond swim or 1 mile kayak is in Watchaug Pond. Water temperature averages between 55- 60 degrees. Wetsuits are highly recommended. In the event of poor swim conditions, the race director and Burlingame Park Management reserve the right to shorten, alter or eliminate the swim/kayak course.
The Bike:
The bike course includes 8 miles of the single-track mountain bike trails famous at Burlingame. They climb, descend and roll through the park. A course map is not available – but trust us, this course is fast, with some climbs, enough technical sections to keep you on your toes and plenty of winding and rolling! The course is single–track with a few sections wide enough to pass. Please pass carefully.
The Run:
3.8 mile run winds through the trails and park roads. Herbalife Hydrate available at water stations.
